Samaritan's Purse stands ready to respond at a moment's notice whenever and wherever disaster strikes. We specialize in international disaster relief, meeting critical needs for victims of conflict, disaster, famine, and epidemics throughout the world, often working through ministry partners on the ground. We provide food, water, shelter, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Since 1993, over 209 million boys and girls in more than 170 countries and territories have experienced God's love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. It is a 12-lesson discipleship course designed for Operation Christmas Child shoebox recipients. Children who participate in the program learn how to follow Christ and share Him with others. As they do, entire families and communities are transformed by the power of the Gospel, and churches are started. Every $6 gift provides one more child with an opportunity to learn about God's love for them as they study the Bible and are taught by a trained local teacher. Upon completion of the course, they receive a graduation certificate and a New Testament in their own language.
U.S. Disaster Relief. Samaritan's Purse mobilizes and equips thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to U.S. victims of wildfires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. In the aftermath of major storms, we often stay behind to rebuild houses for people with nowhere else to turn for help.
World Medical Mission, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, is working to improve such conditions and offer these patients a far greater hope—the eternal healing of the Great Physician, Jesus Christ. We provide evangelical mission hospitals and clinics with the resources they need—equipment, supplies, and Christian physicians and biomedical technicians to treat their patients while standing as a shining witness of God's love through Jesus Christ. Wherever we serve, the Gospel is faithfully presented through hospital chaplains, Christian literature, films, audio tapes, and other means.
The Greta Home and Academy is a safe place for orphaned and vulnerable children in Haiti to receive an education and grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. It was named in honor of former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren, whose advocacy for the people of Haiti helped save thousands of lives.
Samaritan's Purse identifies children in need of surgery; finds doctors and hospitals in North America willing to donate their services; provides roundtrip airfare; coordinates with host families; and arranges for a medical transporter to accompany the children, their mothers and an interpreter to North America.
Operation Heal Our Patriots helps military couples build a strong spiritual foundation during a week of Biblically based workshops, relationship-building wilderness activities, and individual care by our retired military chaplains.
